Prepreg & Tooling

Solvay’s innovative prepreg & prepreg tooling meet the highest standards of the aerospace and automotive industries. They are used for primary and secondary structural applications and offer weight and cost savings while providing excellent structural performance.

  • CYCOM® products are used for primary and secondary aircraft structures as well as interior applications and meet lightweighting and performance needs. The range also provides manufacturers of fixed-wing aircraft with a wide range of composite options to support assembly processes.
  • LTM®  (Low Temperature Molding) series structural and tooling prepregs and associated adhesives (LTA) provide excellent mechanical properties, and the benefits of low temperature cures and longer out life. LTM® products are generally used for large structures. Typical cure temperatures for LTM® prepregs and adhesives are in the range 20 to 80°C (68 to 176°F)
  • MTM® (Medium Temperature Molding) series prepregs and associated adhesives (MTA) offer toughened systems. MTM® products are generally used for mainstream industrial and aerospace applications. Typical cure temperatures for MTM prepregs and adhesives are in the range 80 to 135°C (176 to 275°F)
  • HTM® (High Temperature Molding) series component and tooling prepregs, and associated adhesive (HTA) are suitable for high temperature applications. The maximum cure temperature for HTM® prepregs and adhesives is 135°C (275°F). HTM® prepregs have been formulated for the manufacture of high temperature capable components and tooling applications.
  • VTM® (Variable Temperature Molding) series prepregs and associated adhesives (VTA) possess variable temperature cure capabilities in the range 65 to 120°C (149 to 248°F), and offer tailored resin rheology.
